This policy explains what data the NarutoBot Discord application (ID 660941162261119016) collects, why it collects it, how long it is kept, and how to have it removed. It covers the bot only — for the website, see our Website Privacy Policy.
Who we are:
NarutoBot is operated by the staff team of Naruto Wrld (narutowrld.com, formerly Naruto Discord). The bot runs on our own private server and its database is not shared with anyone outside the staff team.
1. Privileged Intents We Use
Discord requires apps to disclose their use of privileged intents. NarutoBot uses two:
Message Content — required because the bot is prefix-based. Every command is typed as a normal message beginning with $ (for example $balance), so the bot must be able to read message text in order to know a command was issued and to read its arguments. Message content is also used for automated moderation (filtering banned words) and for the message-count activity statistics described below.
Server Members — required to welcome new members, assign and remove roles automatically (rank roles, activity-reward roles, and purchased roles), display member names on leaderboard images, and detect when a member leaves so their purchased-role records can be reconciled.
NarutoBot does not use the Presence intent and does not track your online status, activity, or what you are playing.
2. What We Store
Account identifiers
- Your Discord user ID
- Your username, discriminator, display name and avatar URL (used to render leaderboards, profiles and log entries)
- Server IDs, channel IDs and role IDs
Game and economy data
- Currency balances, transaction and gambling history, taxes paid
- Pets, cards, collectables, marketplace listings and sale history
- Quests, chests, badges, clans, bets, reputation and cooldown timers
- Leaderboard totals and seasonal win counts
Activity data
- A running count of how many messages you have sent in each channel. This is a number only — the text of those messages is not saved for this purpose.
- The timestamp of the last time you used a bot command.
- The date you joined the server.
Moderation data
- Warnings, mutes, bans and kicks, including the reason entered by the staff member who issued them
- Modmail conversations you open with staff, including the messages exchanged in that ticket
Message content
We want to be specific about this, because it is the most sensitive category.
Most of the time, message content is read and immediately discarded — it is checked for a command prefix or a filtered word and then dropped from memory without ever being written to the database. There are, however, four cases where content is retained:
- Edited messages. When a message is edited, the before-and-after text is saved so moderators can review it with $scope. Only the three most recent edits per channel are kept, and every record is automatically and permanently deleted 60 minutes after the edit.
- Deleted messages. The most recently deleted message in a channel is held in the bot's temporary memory so it can be shown with $snipe. It is never written to the database and is erased whenever the bot restarts.
- Moderation logs. When a message is deleted, a copy is posted to a private staff-only log channel inside the Discord server. These log entries live in Discord, not in our database, and are subject to Discord's own retention.
- Text you deliberately give the bot. AFK notices, reminders, suggestions, custom command responses and modmail messages are stored because storing them is the entire point of the feature.
We do not read, store or analyse your direct messages with other users, and we do not log the general conversation of the server.
3. Why We Store It
Data is used solely to operate the bot's features for this community: running the economy and game systems, generating leaderboards and profile images, enforcing the server rules, handling purchases made on the website, and letting staff investigate rule-breaking. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not run any automated decision-making that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
4. How Long We Keep It
- Edited-message records: 60 minutes, then automatically deleted
- Deleted-message cache: held in memory only, cleared on every bot restart
- Game, economy and profile data: kept for as long as you are a member, so that your progress is preserved
- Moderation records: retained while they remain relevant to server safety
- Everything else: kept until you ask us to delete it, or until the feature no longer needs it
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. Data is visible to the Naruto Wrld staff team and is processed by the infrastructure we run the bot on. Data that you post publicly in the Discord server — such as appearing on a public leaderboard — is by nature visible to other members. Your use of Discord itself is additionally governed by Discord's Privacy Policy.
6. Your Choices and How to Delete Your Data
You can ask us to show you what the bot holds about you, correct it, or delete it. To make a request, you can open a modmail ticket by sending the bot a direct message, contact a staff member directly in the Discord server, or email us at admin@narutowrld.com. The email route is available if you have already left the server and can no longer message the bot.
Deletion requests are normally actioned within 30 days. Please note that erasing your economy and game data is irreversible — balances, pets, cards and collectables cannot be restored afterwards. We may need to retain moderation records after a deletion request where doing so is necessary to keep the server safe, and we may retain purchase records where we are required to for accounting purposes.
You can also stop all collection at any time by leaving the Discord server, or by not using the bot's commands.
7. Children
Discord requires all users to be at least 13 years old, or older where local law sets a higher age. NarutoBot is not directed at children below that age and we do not knowingly retain their data. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact staff and we will remove it.
8. Security
The bot's database is not publicly accessible, and access is restricted to the staff who operate the bot. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. The effective date below will change when we do, and continued use of the bot after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Contact: open a modmail ticket by direct messaging NarutoBot, message a staff member in the Discord server, or email admin@narutowrld.com.
Effective 13 August 2026.
